I hope you can find everything you need. I am focused on providing high-quality service and customer satisfaction - I will do everything I can to meet your expectations.
With a calm, consistent, and common sense method to guide you and your dog, I'm sure you'll be happy working with me. Dogs are not humans, even though sometimes we would like to think so. Instead, they have their own special way of communication and are hard-wired to be part of a pack. Once we understand how to speak their language and how they see the world, we are better able to live with them and have a happy, obedient family companion. Testimonials and Stories
Since first meeting Anne when she helped our family adopt the pup of our dreams, she has become an invaluable source of canine information to us. From behaviour issues to diet related problems, Anne is your go-to-gal!We recently had a nasty bout of pancreatitis with our dog which required an extended hospital stay, IVs and a complete withholding of food for 5 days. It was tough to say the least. Our dog needed to be on a special diet for a few months to rest his system. In the meantime, Anne had been tirelessly researching several diet options and supplements for when Gunner was ready to switch over. She provided us with enough options so that I could make an informed desicion that we all felt comfortable with. I am happy to inform you that Gunner has fully recovered and maintaining a healthy weight. As an added bonus his coat and stools have never been better! Thank you Anne!

I have to thank you Anne for all your help and advice for my little rescue, Spencer. I now see what his needs are and he's a much calmer boy! I am also more aware of the pack dynamics here. Your nutrition advice has been a great help for the whole pack too!

Anne has been a godsend to many of the dogs in the Boxer Rescue Ontario program. Her instincts are always correct and she gives actionable and realistic advice that even novice dog owners can put to immediate use. We are lucky she is in our corner and the dogs she comes into contact with are even luckier!

Three years ago I brought a scrawny, abused, neglected, socially backward white boxer home. Hoover was destined to be destroyed at the local Humane Society until Boxer Rescue Ontario stepped in to save him. Within a few days of bringing Hoover home I knew I was in over my head. I contacted BRO and was given the name of a Behaviour Consultant that they hoped could help us. That was my first contact with Anne Puchtinger. I live in Ottawa, Anne lives in London. We have never met, but, we have spent hours discussing Hoover. After that first week with Hoover, I was on the phone to Anne. On that first occasion we spent almost 3½ hours talking about how to establish myself as pack leader with a dog who had obviously been surviving on the street for a significant length of time. We talked about dealing with his instinct for food possession; his toy obsession; his inability to walk on a lead and we also branched into holistic methods to deal with his split paws; calluses on his elbows and food allergies. That was our first conversation with each other but certainly not our last. I made several calls to Anne over the following weeks, each one almost as long as the first. Many, many emails have been sent to Anne describing behaviour patterns; lamenting lapses in behaviour and celebrating achievements and Anne has always been there to suggest training techniques, give even more encouragement to help me through our lapses and give heartfelt praise while celebrating achievements with us. Anne’s continuing and unfailing support; her unselfish sharing of her knowledge of animal behaviour and warm, caring personality have helped Hoover to become a balanced, settled and calm member of my home. Thank you Anne!

I have known Anne since I met my Weimaraner breeder in 2005. We now own one female and one male Weimaraner, Wiley age 5 and Boomer age 4. Anne has been providing us behaviour modification and training advice/information for about 3 or 4 years now. Since the Weimaraner breed is so intelligent, they really require a strong leader as their owner. As an avid runner, hiker and mountain biker, I wanted a dog to share my passions with. I was giving the dogs the proper amount of exercise; however, I was also providing them “too much affection”. As a typical animal lover, I treated my dogs more like people instead of like dogs or pack animals. Anne would be very much to the point to help me learn that “this affection” can be destructive on my dogs more than I realized. She has helped me to learn the difference between providing positive affection “at the correct times” vs. giving affection whenever it suited me for my own satisfaction. The odd time I do still fall back into my old ways, but Anne is forever a little devil on my shoulder reminding me to be the best pack leader I can be! Her information has helped me to be more confident with my dogs and has helped me to be a better pack leader myself, which equals happy dogs! At one point I couldn’t walk both my Weims, as they were too strong and pulling me. With Anne’s help I never think twice to walk my dogs together in our neighbourhood. I still keep in contact with Anne on a regular basis just for a refresher to keep me on my toes! Anne has also helped me to better understand good nutrition for our dogs, which has helped with our one dog's constant diarrhea. Both our dogs now eat a raw diet and are doing excellent on it! I would highly recommend Anne for anyone that is having dog behavioural issues, needs nutritional insight or even just a good common sense kick in the butt! Being a dog owner is a life commitment, and I strongly believe that our dogs are a reflection of who we are. Anne is able to help us see through that foggy window of things that might not seem so obvious to the average owner. But, once she lays it all out on the table for you, the light bulbs go off and you wonder why and how you never thought this way before. Thanks Anne for always being there! You are a great friend and provider of information and make this world a better place for man/women’s best friend!

"As a National Rescue Co-ordinator for the Weimaraner Association of Canada and Weimaraner breeder for the past 15 years, we often refer owners to Anne for assistance. She takes the time to educate owners on how to work on the dog's issues and how to view things from the DOG'S perspective in order to find solutions. Because we work with owners all over Canada, we often have to resort to phone/email consultations and Anne is able to work with people in this capacity to help get them back on track. We offer Anne's services to our puppy owners when they purchase a puppy from us - sometimes people are uncomfortable contacting their breeder if they have issues but by providing a coupon for Anne's services with our puppy packages, owners have the opportunity to tap into another resource if need be. Anne has also helped numerous owners who have contacted Rescue because they are at their wit's end with their dog's behaviour issues. Anne has been able to assist these people so that they are able to work on the problems and keep their dog permanently- the ultimate goal of a Rescue program."
